The Chester Estates is a historic plantation house located in Prince George County, Va. built in 1845 on over 700 acres by Colonel Williamson Simmons with East and West wings added in 1949 by Remmie Arnold, a Petersburg politician, businessman and owner of the Arnold Pen factory. From the 60s the location has been a Golf Course with Club House, a restaurant, a bed and breakfast and Events Venue under different ownerships. The Chester Estates is listed on both the Virginia and Federal Registry of historically significant buildings.
Christopher and Marisela Clark, purchased the location in November of 2017 with the intention of restoring the home and continuing in the same Inn and Events tradition.
Our goal for the Chester Estates is to become a destination location in Prince George County for hosting indoor/outdoor weddings, showers, parties, wine tastings, holiday events, corporate events, family reunions, Mystery Dinner Theater, live music, Paint Nights, Outdoor movies, Bed and Breakfast and more. With the recent purchase of 47 acres from the Prince George Golf Course we intend to reconstitute a 9-hole, Par 3 walking golf course in 2022 and in the coming years, a pool with clubhouse.
The Chester Estates was purchased in 2017 with many renovations since then with, outdoor lighting, updated landscaping including Crepe Myrtle trees, two updated rear decks, new furnishings in the interior and exterior, stamped concrete patio, a 2000 gallon working fountain with lighting, aquatic plants and Koi fish, outdoor speakers, a covered gazebo and much more.
The Bed and Breakfast has 3 rooms available and is open for business including a sumptuous made to order breakfast and an arrival gift. The property is located in a rural setting with a nearby 10-acre lake and 47 acres available for hiking and exploring. We intend to do a soft opening to the public with the date to be determined. We are available to discuss your upcoming events for 2022 and taking preorders for weddings and other events.
